Located in western borders with Germany, Belgium and France. The territory is divided into two regions: the northern part of the Ardennes low but steep and flat in the south. The climate is continental very cold in the area of the Ardennes, while more mild and rainy in the south. Income per capita is the highest in the world and economic development is linked to the strong expansion of financial activities which contribute over one third to the formation of Gross Domestic Product.
